TikTok Creator Economy 2026: Real Supply, Rates, and Sponsor Activity

77,835 TikTok creators by size, the rate gap vs YouTube, and the brands actually paying creators in 2026.

By Dennis Ksendzov, Founder, Influencer Advisory5 min read

We track 77,835 TikTok creators and 158,555 on YouTube, against 176,223 confirmed paid sponsor deals.

The interesting story is not who sits at the top. It is the shape of supply underneath.

TikTok creators by size

Size Followers TikTok YouTube
Nano under 10K 29,476 (37.9%) 5,138 (3.2%)
Micro 10K to 100K 28,784 (37.0%) 87,351 (55.1%)
Mid 100K to 500K 12,835 (16.5%) 42,228 (26.6%)
Macro 500K to 1M 3,046 (3.9%) 10,121 (6.4%)
Mega 1M+ 3,694 (4.7%) 13,717 (8.7%)
Total 77,835 158,555

YouTube concentrates in micro (55%). TikTok splits almost evenly between nano and micro, which makes its nano group twelve times denser by share.

Three things the size data shows:

Nano scales on TikTok in a way it does not on YouTube. 29,476 nano creators on TikTok against 5,138 on YouTube. A 200-creator brand-seeding push has supply on one platform and runs out fast on the other.

Macro is rare. Only 3,046 TikTok creators sit between 500K and 1M, against 10,121 on YouTube. Brands queue for the same small group, which pushes price up for access, not performance.

The top tier is closer than the headlines say. 4.7% of TikTok creators are above 1M, against 8.7% on YouTube. The story that TikTok is run by a few giants is not in our data.

Before your next plan, pick the two sizes you will focus on. Spreading budget across all five is the most common mistake we see.

Rates: TikTok vs YouTube

We have confirmed rate data for 127 TikTok creators and 294 YouTube creators. Enough to see direction. Not enough yet to publish clean medians by size.

  • TikTok posts run 20 to 40% below YouTube for the same audience (Influencer Marketing Hub Benchmark Report, checked against our data).
  • TikTok engagement runs 2 to 3 times higher than Instagram Reels.
  • TikTok video is faster and cheaper to make, which is why rates sit lower without cutting creator pay.

The real risk for a brand is paying YouTube rates on TikTok inventory. Engagement is higher; per-view value is not. When we build a shortlist, we run a rate check against the closest past deals first, so the offer that goes out sits inside the band the platform actually clears at.

Who pays creators in 2026

Our deal data is mostly YouTube (TikTok branded content is harder to scrape clean), but the brand list is the same on both.

Rank Brand Deals Creators
1 BetterHelp 2,612 1,319
2 Skillshare 1,819 721
3 Squarespace 1,524 332
4 NordVPN 1,334 620
5 Surfshark 1,230 640
6 Brilliant 1,128 404
7 Incogni 1,127 692

Eight of the top ten sell apps, subscriptions, or digital products: mental health, learning, privacy, site builders, audio. Short-form converts to a sign-up in one tap, which is why these brands run the most volume there.

These same categories also draw the most FTC attention. Line every deal up against the 2026 FTC rules for influencer disclosures before briefing a creator.

Brand-creator pairs repeat more than people think

Across 87,793 pairs in our data:

Metric Value
Pairs with 2+ deals 27,084 (30.85%)
Pairs with 3+ deals 13,412 (15.28%)

About one in three becomes a repeat. On TikTok, repeats arrive faster: series integrations across multiple videos in a six-week window are normal. YouTube spaces deals further apart.

Price the first deal as deal one of three, not as a one-off.

The cost of picking the wrong first creator

About one in three pairs runs more than one deal, so your first pick is really your first three priced as one. A bad pick on creator one ends the cadence and the rate.

For brands entering TikTok in 2026

Three moves the data supports:

  1. Start mid-size (100K to 500K). Better rates than macro, engagement still strong, 12,835 creators to vet against.
  2. Run nano at scale (200+ creators). Unique structural edge TikTok has. No other major platform has this much supply at that price.
  3. Plan for the second deal at the first deal. A 30.85% repeat rate is the cadence, not the exception.

The verdict: a brand wins on TikTok in 2026 by concentrating on the mid tier with a nano flank, pricing the first deal as the first of three, and matching creators to the way the product converts.

The work that sinks a campaign sits under that sentence: rate checks, repeat-cadence pricing, FTC disclosure, and creator-to-brand fit before money moves. That is the part we do for clients, and the part where we keep brands out of trouble.
