Influencer Advisory™

For Marketing Leaders at Restaurants, Gyms and Local Venues

Turn the Creators Your Neighbors Follow Into Full Tables and Booked Chairs

We pick creators who live near your location, have them visit and post about it, and track every booking back to the creator who brought it.

Campaigns for 55+ brands · XIX Vodka: 200+ purchases across four event days

Most local creator posts reach people who live too far away to visit

A creator with a big following comes in, posts, and the likes come from other cities. So creators get written off as a free meal that never filled a seat.

Why most local creator posts stall

“The post got likes from people in other cities”

Why it happensA follower count never shows where viewers live. A creator across the country can’t send anyone through your door.

“We gave out free meals and never saw anyone come in”

Why it happensInvites go to whoever asks first. Nobody checks if their followers live close enough to visit.

“We can’t tell which posts brought people in”

Why it happensWalk-ins leave no click. Without a code or booking link for each creator, nobody can count who came from where.

“Our new location opened quiet”

Why it happensThe posts went up after the opening. People nearby need to see a place a few times before their first visit.

“The video showed the food but not the place”

Why it happensPeople visit for the feel of a place. A close-up of a plate doesn’t tell them where it is or why to go.

“Every location starts from scratch”

Why it happensNobody keeps a list of which creators brought people in, so the ones who worked never get booked for the next location.

Why we started

We realized this old system was not the way that the most successful companies were doing things. We learned this first hand.

We ran an influencer agency first, then a talent agency. Neither one worked for the brands we served, so we built something new.

First Didn’t work

We were an influencer agency

1,000 reached50 replied3 good

When we ran as an influencer agency, we would reach out to a thousand creators, hear back from about 50, and end up with three influencers who were actually good.

Then Didn’t work

We were a talent agency

every new briefthe same 50

When we ran as a talent agency, we managed our own roster, but every time a client handed us a really niche avatar, we were stuck choosing from the same 50 people.

Now What works

So we built our new method

The foundation of this boils down to building connections at scale with influencers and keeping them, and then scaling them without an operational nightmare.

How we run influencer marketing for local businesses

Three steps, and every one of them ends in a number you can count.

  1. 1

Find the creators who live near each location

Food, fitness, beauty and city creators whose viewers live a short trip from your door. We pick them by where their viewers live, not how many follow.

  2. 2

Have them come in and show the place

Each creator visits, tries what you offer and posts it in their own words, with the address on screen. Posts land around a launch, a new menu or a slow night.

  3. 3

Count every visit, then book the winners again

Every creator gets their own code or booking link, so each visit is counted. The creators who bring people in get booked again at the next location.

Examples

Two local campaigns we ran, and one that shows how we pick creators by what they make on camera.

Our campaign: Toronto cafes

Tim Hortons

What we did

  1. Ran local Toronto creators around the Tims Urban locations
  2. Built the posts around the refreshed menu
  3. Aimed every post at people already walking past the store

The result

A matcha order turned into “I have to try that”, with the lift seen the same week.

Our campaign: a vodka launch

XIX Vodka

What we did

  1. Walked off the paid feed, where alcohol ads are boxed in
  2. Put ten nightlife creators inside the venue
  3. Ran it as a live activation over four days

The result

200+ purchases across four event days.

Our campaign: air fryers to cooking creators

Typhur

What we did

  1. Picked 10 cooking creators by what they cook on camera
  2. Typhur chose 5 and matched each one to an air fryer
  3. They filmed from Typhur’s brief

The result

3,573,258 impressions across the campaign.

Who we are

Dennis and Alice talking on the couch at the studio

We originally started in the media space helping YouTubers improve their content. We know firsthand exactly what it takes to make good content.

YouTubers we helped include Football Fundamental, Ground Glory and Kevin Aquatics, and we helped them implement systems that allow them to earn more.

Alice at the Hourglass launch at Sephora

We started Influencer Advisory around a pretty simple observation that influencer marketing is a fragmented industry.

Dennis in an Influencer Advisory shirt at the studio

After being in the influencer agency space, we noticed that it’s fragmented, unreliable and inconsistent, which is why it doesn’t actually become a staple marketing channel for most brands.

Alice with a guest on The Brand Growth Podcast

That’s what led us down the rabbit hole of looking through 6,200 plus interviews with CMOs, running campaigns for 55 plus brands, and learning what actually works in the influencer space.
