For you if:
- You want a charity or cause tie-in for a creator or celebrity partnership, not a logo on a check.
- You are choosing between a straight donation, a percentage of every sale, or handing the whole fundraiser to a creator.
- You want proof a cause campaign can move real money, not just goodwill.
Build it around a cause the creator already has
1. Lead with the creator's own charity, not one you picked for them
Culture Pop Soda and Noah Kahan cemented their partnership in October 2025 and led the limited-edition drop with a $100,000 day-one donation to The Busyhead Project, the mental health initiative Kahan founded himself.
The announcement calls it a mission-first collaboration, unlike standard celebrity endorsements, and Kahan said having a partner that supports that mission means the world to him. The Busyhead Project has raised over $5.5 million to date.
The limited-edition release is aligned to a day-one donation of $100,000 from Culture Pop Soda to The Busyhead Project, Kahan's mental health initiative. Read it: PR Newswire, Jan 15, 2026
The results:
- Not published: we found no sales figure or later donation total for the drop.
2. Let a comeback story carry the ask
Onnit built its Black Friday spot around Lance Armstrong and matched every dollar donated with a purchase to fight testicular cancer.
Onnit's team said the cause behind it, the Movember Foundation, was part of what got Armstrong to say yes to poking fun at himself on camera again.
This Black Friday, get some good karma back. Onnit will match every dollar donated with purchase to fight testicular cancer. Read it: The Drum, Nov 17, 2018

3. Have the celebrity investor say why, not just star in it
AQUAhydrate investor and board member Mark Wahlberg spoke for the brand himself when it donated $10,000 to Wounded Warrior Project and sold a co-branded Camo-Gallon through the Fourth of July.
AQUAhydrate has initiated a new partnership with Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) and is donating $10,000 this summer to help honor and empower wounded warriors. Read it: BevNET, 2019

Pay creators to run the fundraiser, not just post about it
4. Hand the whole event to the two creators already doing it
ZOA Energy partnered with JT Laybourne and Ed Delmore, two positivity TikTok creators already known for fundraising, and let them carry #KindnessCAN for a month.
The pair took a mirror reading "you are enough" to California streets, then hosted a three-hour TikTok Live for Made of Millions on World Kindness Day.
The campaign's Shorty Awards entry also links posts from The Rock, one of ZOA's founders.

It was headlined by a pair of TV commercials, lip-synched to children telling real mental health stories.

6. Tell the stories on the account where they went viral
Powerade had Playmaker build a House of Highlights series of mini-docs on everyday athletes who had recently gone viral on the account, each one ending on a real giveback, like fixing up a local basketball court for a young hooper in Brooklyn.

Put the cause on every unit sold
7. Tie a per-pack donation to the celebrity's own pick
Olipop's first ad campaign starred investor Camila Cabello with her real family and friends, and let customers build a Pair & Share 12-pack or pick her personal favorite flavors, Vintage Cola and Strawberry Vanilla.
Every Pair & Share pack sold between May 2 and July 31 sent $2 to Partnership for a Healthier America, up to $50,000, enough for up to 140,000 servings of fruits and vegetables.
OLIPOP will make a donation of $2 for every "Pair & Share'' 12-pack sold between May 2 - July 31st, up to $50,000, to Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), supporting its mission to ensure that every family has access to healthy, high-quality food. Read it: LBBOnline, May 5, 2023
